Anticipation of Blue Economy Cascading Effects is a project being developed within the NEPTUNE initiative. The project will deliver a simulation tool for cross-sectoral cascading effects identification and prediction in regards to environment and coastal hazards. Proposed solution will enable decision makers related to Blue Economy such as mayors of coastal towns whose economy relies on tourism, harbours and marinas operators, SAR units, etc. to predict severe environmental disruptions and the consequences of disruptions to various areas of Blue Economy like tourism, societal functioning, logistics, critical infrastructure functioning, etc.
The project will be built upon an IT solution for cascading effects prediction in crisis management. The solution will be adjusted to the requirements of the environment and coastal hazards in the area of Blue Economy. The tool is a what-if decision support tool focused on prediction of complex interdependencies between various infrastructures, systems or phenomena. In particular, it is able to predict overlooked paths of the future course of events. The main domain of application is training of crisis management services, however it can be also used in response phase of crisis situations.
In order to fulfil all of the project’s objectives forces of ITTI Sp z o.o. and TERRASPATIUM SA and a Polish Innovation Actor has been gathered. The capabilities of the partners cover all of the aspects in order to fully comply with the defined objectives and requirements of the project and Blue Economy sector.
