The goal of the VALORADA project is to empower European regions and cities to steer the upcoming societal transformation towards sustainable and climate-resilient development. The VALORADA project is in line with the EU’s Adaptation Mission aiming at supporting the transformation of 150 European regions to become sustainable and climate-resilient by 2030 through:
  • The acceleration of societal transformations.
  • The demonstration of systemic transformations.
  • The improvement of access to and usability of climate data.

VALORADA aims to raise awareness regarding the untapped potential of existing data in effectively adapting to climate change. It achieves this by integrating both technical and governance perspectives, ensuring a comprehensive approach. It also facilitates the creation of interdependencies between various types of data, bridging the gap between in-situ data and Earth Observation/Climate data. VALORADA emphasises the importance of ground data for climate analyses, observation, and tool validation.
During its three-year duration, VALORADA will enable the integration of diverse datasets that merge local knowledge with climate and non-climate datasets through co-developed data manipulation tools and climate data. The implementation of dedicated scalability and replicability activities will be conducted within at least 10 European regions. Additional project activities include the development of capacity-building schemes for end users as well as providers of climate services.
