E-NACSOS
EU Naval Collaborative Surveillance Operational Standard
EU Naval Collaborative Surveillance Operational Standard
E-NACSOS project aims to ensure superiority at sea of EU naval surface vessels while securing the EU naval surveillance sovereignty by developing novel protocols, interfaces and target architecture enabling to tackle new and asymmetric threats from Anti-Air-Warfare / Air & Missile Defence domain. E-NACSOS will improve the ability to identify, classify and track these threats. Early warning is the key element in the engagement chain that will enable the preservation of the maneuverability at sea of European naval forces. Nevertheless, E-NACSOS will complement and not supplement existing tactical data links (TDL): TDL will continue being used as the key channel of communication between allies.
The activities within E-NACSOS will target the whole Naval Collaborative Surveillance (NCS) value chain from the definition, design, development, and prototyping of NCS main functions that are in compliance with the partners existing national strategy, to the final demonstrations in 2026 and 2028. E-NACSOS consortium coordinated by Naval Group is built in a valuable spirit across 21 partners from 12 EU Member States. The consortium is a naval industry-driven consortium (11 partners), and is surrounded by innovative SMEs (6 partners), 1 Midcap and well-renowned academics (2 partners) coming from various areas of Europe and with high complementarity skills among the participants yielding an example of diversity and inclusiveness, leading to a productive and innovative working group. Partners of E-NACSOS will also rely on high quality subcontractors involved in the action, coming from 4 EU countries, including 2 cross border SMEs.
