GEO Elevation offers today a comprehensive range of models providing accurate elevation data everywhere in the world, whatever the relief & weather conditions. Integrating the TerraSAR-X, SPOT and Pléiades Elevation products, the range consists of three core levels allowing customers to use the right model for their business needs.

Elevation30 is a unique worldwide 3D geographic reference database especially designed for large area coverage for mapping, GIS and military needs.Derived from both optical (from Elevation30 DEM - Ortho layer & Quality information database) and radar spaceborne technologies, Elevation30 allows a greater coverage independent of terrain characteristics and weather conditions. The model includes “first surface” elevations including vegetation and man-made structures.
Elevation30 has 3 layers of information: DTED level 2 format DEM (Digital Elevation Model), Orthoimage (ground control source) & A set of quality masks.

An unlimited source of ground control points Elevation30 orthoimages provide ground control points accurate enough to ensure GPS compatibility: better than 10mCE90. They can be used to orthorectify imagery from most Earth observation satellites—e.g. SPOT, FORMOSAT-2, QuickBird, IKONOS, Envisat—when positional data is not available.
Elevation10 - Custom-tailored 10m Elevation Models even in difficult areas
Elevation10 provides reliable and customised elevation modelling independent of relief characteristics and weather conditions. The models are available tailored to the customer’s area of interest starting at a minimum of 500 square kilometres, and up to full regional or even national coverage. The Digital Surface Model (DSM) includes “first surface” elevations (e.g. vegetation and man-made structures) and can be processed into Digital Terrain Models (DTM), that represent the bare earth elevation (vegetation and man-made objects removed).
The Elevation10 products are based on StripMap stereo pairs (data covering the same area acquired in both ascending and descending orbit directions) acquired by the high-resolution radar satellite TerraSAR-X and processed applying radargrammetry techniques. As TerraSAR-X features a unique positional accuracy (less than 20 cm), and operates independent of weather conditions and sunlight, the derivation of height information relies on exceptionally solid input data.

Elevation4 & Elevation1 - Highly Detailed DEMs for Local Coverage
The new Elevation4 and Elevation1 products complement Astriums extensive GEO Elevation portfolio, providing an optimised fit for the needs of urban mapping, hydrology and oil & gas applications.
Elevation4 features a posting of 4m and is ideally suited for 3D mapping of dense urban areas or relief in steep terrain. Specifically optimised for hydrological application and oil / mineral exploration, Elevation1 provides DEMs with a 1m posting.
Besides the Digital Surface Models (DSM) which include the “first surface” elevations (e.g. vegetation and man-made structures), Digital Terrain Models (DTM) representing the bare Earth elevation (vegetation and man-made objects removed) can also be provided.
Elevation4 and Elevation1 products are derived from Pléiades stereo and tristereo data. Based on this unique data the DEMs feature a very high level of accuracy and provide highly detailed information. The models are available tailored exactly to the customer’s area of interest starting at a minimum of 100km².
